Once owned by the infamous Bugsy Siegal, the El Cortez is housed in an original building that dates from the 1940s. Located downtown in the original Las Vegas, Nev., that pre-dates the Strip, El Cortez is situated two blocks from the Fremont Street Experience and nine miles from McCarran International Airport. Complimentary transportation is offered at selected times to the airport, but not from the airport.
The El Cortez casino offers extended multi-race keno that allows participants to play up to 1,000 consecutive games with a single ticket. The 40,000-square-foot casino offers blackjack, craps, roulette, mini baccarat, three-card poker, slots, video poker, live keno and a race-and- sports book.
Hotel amenities include a beauty shop, barbershop and a gift shop. The lobby kiosk provides high-speed Internet access and the reception area offers wireless Internet access. Corporate travelers can conduct "business as usual" thanks to the hotel's ample conference facilities and fax and photocopying services.
On-site dining is provided by Careful Kitty's Cafe that serves American fare and is open 24 hours a day. Roberta's Steakhouse specializes in prime rib, steaks, seafood and chicken. Chinese Kitchen Buffet is open daily during dinner hours and Express Breakfast Buffet serves daily morning meals.
The El Cortez offers 299 guestrooms and suites in a 14-story tower or pavilion building. Spacious Tower guestrooms feature crown molding, dressing/vanity areas, separate sitting areas with loveseats, wing chairs and coffee tables. Guestrooms also include refrigerators, on request.
Guests of the El Cortez appreciate this hotel's "Old Vegas" ambience.
