Occupying a four-story Creole townhouse dating to 1827, the Hotel Royal in New Orleans' French Quarter stands a block from Bourbon Street's vibrant nightclubs and restaurants as an ideal and romantic base for couples, groups and friends who get away to this mystical city. This New Orleans hotel in the French Quarter features 37 air-conditioned guestrooms and nine suites with private baths, jetted tubs, exposed brick walls or hardwood floors, Italian Frette linens, cable/satellite TV, ceiling fans, coffeemakers and data ports.
Brimming with Old World charm and panache, New Orleans is filled with buildings with character and stories. Until the 1940s, the Hotel Royal's building remained a private home until portions were transformed into a Laundromat. By the 1960s, massive infusions of capital turned the building into a hotel, and a redo in 2001 by renowned architect and interior designer Lee Ledbetter ushered the French Quarter hotel into the modern age with extra space and original artwork by local artist Edward Whiteman.
