Location. Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood is home to the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower hotel, just two blocks from the night life of Rush Street and specialty shops of Oak Street. The Windy City's Magnificent Mile area and John Hancock Center are three blocks from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Guests are welcomed to the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower's wedge and angular-shaped building designed by French architect Jean-Paul Viguier. A two-story atrium lobby appointed with chenille couches and fresh flower arrangements accent the changing colors of glass blocks embedded in the slate floors below. Commanding views of Lake Michigan and downtown Chicago appear through many areas of the hotel, including its spacious meeting rooms. The hotel features an on-site business and fitness room, both available 24-hours a day. Hotel dining at Cafe des Architectes features a terrace area and French cuisine served in a contemporary setting, three meals daily. Le Bar's modern decor features floor-to-ceiling glass walls, an inviting library area and serves specialty cocktails nightly, including Champagne and fine wines.
Guestrooms. The hotel's 415 guestrooms feature light-wooded furnishings and wall photography framing Chicago architecture. Expert Tip. Buddy Guy's on South Wabash St. draws some of the best blues acts in the national. Not a tourist trap as rumored around town, this live music spot is frequented by members of the Rolling Stones who make surprise stage appearances.
