Location. The Hyatt Regency on the Miami River stands only a few blocks from the financial district and five blocks from the Bayside Marketplace. The downtown hotel adjoins the Miami Convention Center and connects to the James L. Knight Center. The hotel stands eight miles from Miami International Airport.
Hotel Features. Guests are first greeted in the atrium lobby by a polished white automated piano playing up-tempo songs. A giant sculpture by Yaacov Agam rises towards the ceiling. The Hyatt's amenities include a staffed business center, more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space, an outdoor pool with sundeck and a fitness center. In addition, the hotel provides discount passes to a health club one block from the hotel. The hotel's Japengo offers a taste of upscale Pacific Rim cuisine from Japan, Thailand and China. A more casual atmosphere is found in the Riverwalk Cafe, offering gourmet take-out.
Guestrooms. South Beach-inspired guestrooms display light wood furniture, oval mirrors, streamlined lamps and tones of beige, gold and blue. Most rooms have balconies with tables and chairs. Amenities include dial-up and wireless Internet access, coffeemakers, refrigerators, designer toiletries and safes.
Expert Tip. Floor-to-ceiling windows by the elevator bays on the upper floors of the hotel offer great opportunities for spotting manatees in the Miami River.
